History of eXposure

It’s no secret that HBCU’s are continuing to operate under limited funds and little resources, especially during the current economic recession. And, with financial loss come cuts to vital areas such as technology, equipment, adjunct professorships, and guest speakers. Seeing this as a major hurdle for these college students, Executive Director, Don Napoleon launched eXposure as a way to provide students with the resources and opportunities they need.

Through eXposure, HBCU graduate and television/film producer Don Napoleon found a way to give back to his colleges, other struggling universities and HBCU’s by providing students with the opportunity to learn about the latest technologies, equipment, and tools to help them in their pursuit of a career in multi-media.

Don Napoleon is an award winning producer and graduate of Virginia State University and currently serves as a producer, videographer, and photographer in the Washington, DC area. Don credits his success to meeting the right people, making the right connections, and being eXposed to the right tools and resources. He knows the struggles and obstacles of “making it” in the highly competitive field of television and film production and feels it is only right to give back what he has learned.

2009 VSU Tour to DC

HBCU Students are sometimes limited with resources about career opportunities in the Television business. It takes one day at a time to "Give back". It's my duty and responsibility to give back to those who need direction at VSU, This year together with the VSU Mass Comm Dept, Jennifer Williamson, eXposure was able to organize a DC Studio Tour for HBCU and DC students to visit and tour TV networks and Radio studios in the DC area....

VSU Student testimonies:

Hey Don,
This is Jessica Levene, I just wanted say thanks again for coordinating the tour day in DC with VSU. I learned so much from it and your wonderful advice. I feel like I have more insight and knowledge of the many positions within the Mass Communications field. It is also very encouraging to see alumni of VSU being successful and taking the time to help us get our careers started. So thank you so much for that.
Sincerely, Jessica Levene

Mr. Don Napoleon,
My name is Crystal Goode and I am one of the students who went on the tour to Washington D.C. I just wanted to thank you from the bottom of my heart for blessing us with the opportunity to tour XM Radio, Comcast Sportsnet, and Voices of America. I would have never thought to look into those places for careers if it had not been for you. Thanks again!
Crystal Goode
